Is gender equality a problem in today's population?
I think this is a very sensitive topic to treat nowadays, it must be talked with a lot of respect, because even if in the past the problem was even worst, nowadays we have some residual problem from past decades.
I think feminism is a very good movement but in today's population, the meaning has changed a lot. feminism itself means that both men and women deserve the same benefits, because many years before, in almost all the countries, it was a clear pattern of sexism (maleness), and that means that men are more than women, while feminism entered as a social movement to equate both genders.
With all the things related to rights written in the constitutions, in almost all the countries both genders seem to be the same, but we still have some problems like extra taxes in some countries for women´s products like deodorant, shavers, etc... And also things like we do not see many women pilots, or taxi drivers, etc. and if both genders are the same, why do we still have those differences?
Also, we have some problems in some countries like Afghanistan's issue a few months ago, where we could see a lack of rights for women, and where the USA government and the united nations had to intervene.
Many things are better, but we still have work to do, to be even better and end gender inequality.
Speaking about gender-based inequality we should considere cultural variations, but also analyze how institutions are thought, maybe rules are the same, but how about focus policies? Yes, feminism has brought a debate around gender equality, but women do sometimes need tailored policies as maternity, menstrual security–among other– that must be taken into account

ResponderEliminartalking about gender equality i think that is a really sensitive topic just because is a reallity and even in colombia is a dificult situation but theres many diferent opinions obout the topic i just can say that even if im not agree with equality just beacuse i think thta gender has diferent need i think that the things in colombia has to be fair, but im agree that is so unfain in many diferents contries and reality in diferent places are not the same.
