Is gender equality a problem in today's population?

I think this is a very sensitive topic to treat nowadays, it must be talked with a lot of respect, because even if in the past the problem was even worst, nowadays we have some residual problem from past decades.  I think feminism is a very good movement but in today's population, the meaning has changed a lot. feminism itself means that both men and women deserve the same benefits, because many years before, in almost all the countries, it was a clear pattern of sexism (maleness), and that means that men are more than women, while feminism entered as a social movement to equate both genders. With all the things related to rights written in the constitutions, in almost all the countries both genders seem to be the same, but we still have some problems like extra taxes in some countries for women´s products like deodorant, shavers, etc... And also things like we do not see many women pilots, or taxi drivers, etc. and if both genders are the same, why do we still have those differenc...

are differences between countries very big?

I have a cousin that five years had to go to live in the USA, and he started high school there, but nowadays, he is working to get some money for his needs. The other day, he wanted to give me a pair of shoes, but that specific reference cost 220 US, immediately I told him like "you don't buy those shoes, are very expensive, I don't want 1'000.000 COP shoes, that's too much" and then he told me "that's nothing right here, for me it is like 220.000 COP". I realize that being rich in Colombia, is by far, very different from being rich in the USA. Someone getting 25'000.000 COP a month is rich here, but someone with 6.000-7.000 USD is not someone rich in the US, so that is very confusing because returning to the shoe issue, how much money should someone earn to buy 1'000.000 COP in Colombia, which job are they doing? probably they must have at least a professional carrier, but that is not the case in the US, even if my cousin does not have t...

What about urbanization comparing countries?

Nowadays, I am working in a very interesting cooperating work in a subject called "internationalization strategies" and the project's name is X-culture.  X-culture is a real-life project in which you must complete a company case with partners in other countries, which means also different cultures and also one of the most complicated things, the time difference between countries, for example in Colombia is 10am and in Thailand is 10pm, so it is very difficult to manage. I have a partner that is a girl from Botswana (a country in South Africa), and it is very peculiar because even if she has access to the internet, she tells us that most of the cities of the country don't have even a good infrastructure in terms that they don't have street or it is very difficult to have access to electricity. That makes me question if the urbanization is well done in terms that the population in the country is very small, just 2.2 million people, and most of those persons do not ...

How covid affected my studies?

In my global affairs class, we were talking about quality education, then I thought about how covid affected my studies and then a question came to my mind: did the covid-19 affect the quality of the education in my university? To make the long story short, I would say yes... Even if my university did the best work to gave us a good experience, in the beginning, it was a very bad experience because many of my teachers were not prepared to teach via the internet, for example, internet issues like bad connections in their homes, confusion with the platform "teams", were not prepared to change the modality of the courses, they did not have a board at home so it was very hard to understand subjects like maths or accountability and a very big, etc... The university offered some scholarships but even with that, the semester was very expensive though (like 3.000usd) and we were at our houses so we could not take advantage of the beautiful infrastructure of the university. The exper...

My own view of globalization.

Globalization is something very interesting, sometimes you only think of it when you talk about exports, imports, migration, etc... For me, it is more than that. At the beginning of 2021, my family was having some money issues, however, the only thing I was doing was studying and playing video games. I wanted to have a job, but the problem was that I should have time also for my studies, and most of the jobs demand a specific workday.  One day I was looking at YouTube, fortunately, I saw a channel of a Bartender with almost 200.000 subscribers called "Raul Bartender" a guy from Venezuela that lives in the USA. I thought something like "why not tell him if he needed a video editor?" and BOOOOM, my dream job. He pay me 10 dollars per video edited (a video took me like 6 hours to have ready) which is like 40.000 COP, (more a minimum wage in Colombia) and the best thing is that I can work in the time that I want, wherever I want and I do not have a specific workday.  On...
